SSWARS’s mission is to contribute to achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by improving the communities' standards of living through planning and implementation of sustainable closed loop sanitation practices and water supply systems, and to reduce the possible risk of disease outbreaks related to poor sanitation practices.

The vision of SSWARS is to be the leading NGO in the implementation of sustainable sanitation systems (incorporating resource re-use) and water supply infrastructure in Uganda and in the region by 2010.
